Electronic waste (e-waste) items such as televisions, computers, cameras, video game consoles, printers, and DVD players are not collected through regular curbside pick-up and do not belong in the garbage or blue box. Electronic waste items can contain valuable resources and hazardous materials that need to be recycled, reused, or disposed of responsibly.
Every year, the Township of King Community Services Department hosts a series of Community Electronic Recycling events at various Township facilities to encourage residents to properly dispose of their e-waste for free. In addition, electronic waste can be dropped off at select York Region Waste Depots for proper disposal.
The Next Community Recycling Event:
Date: October 20th | Location: Cold Creek Conservation Area, Visitors Centre Parking Lot | Time: 10am-2pm |
Total Electronic Recycling Collection at Community Electronic Recycling events in 2023: 3934 kg
