Environmental Events

From electronic recycling events and yard sales to community clean-up initiatives and gardening workshops, there's a plethora of activities planned to welcome the warmer season. Snow Shoes & Snow Clues

Date: Monday, February 16
Location: Cold Creek Conservation Area, Visitor's Centre, 14125 11th Concession, Nobleton
Time: 11:00am-12:30pm
Cost: Free

Join us to snowshoe the trails and search for signs of winter wildlife. Participants will learn the proper techniques associated with snowshoeing followed by a guided snowshoe to explore the park and identify tracks and signs of local animals. In the event of a snow-free day, join us for a winter walk! Snowshoes will be provided. Pre registration is required.

Resilient Agriculture - Invasive Species Management Workshop for Farms & Rural Land Owners

Join us for the 2026 King Resilient Agriculture Series, featuring a focused session on Invasive Species Management. Learn from experts at the Invasive Species Centre, who will share insights on common invasive species, effective management strategies, and practical tips and resources for managing invasive species on rural and agricultural lands. This session will also introduce the new King Township Invasive Species Strategy, highlighting local actions and opportunities for landowners.

Hoot, Howl & Squeak

Date: Saturday, March 28
Location: Cold Creek Conservation Area, Education Centre, 14125 11th Concession, Nobleton
Time: 6:30-8:30pm
Cost: Free

Join the Township of King and the TRCA during Earth Hour for a night of fun and adventure! Enjoy a talk about owls and coyotes, followed by a trip into the woods. Together we will call out to these wild creatures in hopes they will hoot, howl or squeak back! The first portion will consist of a presentation followed by a trail walk. The event will take place rain, snow or shine. Please dress for the weather, including layered clothing and winter boots. Pre registration required.
