As part of our commitment to making as many Township services accessible as possible, Council Chambers is equipped with Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) to amplify the sound system to help attendees hear better. Anyone requiring an ALD can talk to the Council and Committee Clerk prior to the start of a meeting.
A grey transmitter box is installed on the ceiling ledge in the Council Chambers above the seats of Councillors for Wards 1 and 2. The ALDs must have a clear line of sight to this box for the infrared sensor to be connected and transmit clear sound.
Instructions:
A grey transmitter box is installed on the ceiling ledge in the Council Chambers above the seats of Councillors for Wards 1 and 2. The ALDs must have a clear line of sight to this box for the infrared sensor to be connected and transmit clear sound.
THEREFORE, it is recommended that persons using the ALDs should:
· face the front of the room in order to connect to the transmitter box,
· not sit where the two (2) pillars in the room will block the signal,
· wear the device around the neck, and
· reduce movement while holding it as this will cause the signal to drop.
