Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope for cancer research on April 12, 1980, beginning a cross-Canada run with the goal of raising a dollar for every Canadian. Sadly, Terry Fox died before he could finish the run, but he left a lasting legacy and surpassed his fundraising goal.
Today, the Terry Fox Run is an annual Canadian tradition with more than 650 diverse communities coming together to raise money for cancer research
