Each June, communities across Ontario celebrate June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) as a way of promoting the benefits of being active and recognizing the contribution that recreation and parks make to quality of life.
From June 1-30, King Township has lined up 30 days of recreational activities for all ages, abilities and interests. Regular admission fees apply unless the program is noted as free. Here’s how you can celebrate:
- De-stress by dancing or doing outdoor yoga
- Play basketball, volleyball, pickleball and shinny hockey or go skating
- Make an Indigenous Dot Painting with a Métis artist
- Workout at the Trisan Fitness Centre
- Go on guided hikes or a bird walk and talk at Cold Creek Conservation Area
- Take aim at disc golf (free rentals!)
- Lend a green thumb at a wildflower or herb planting event
- Explore over 100km of scenic trails or take a trip to the playground!
