Volunteering with King
The Township of King has a volunteer program (Leadership In Training) for youth looking to transition from campers to potential camp staff, gain experience working with children, and develop their leadership skills. Volunteers are on-site, are not included in the camp ratio, and volunteer their time to provide staff with extra support throughout the day. HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) is a requirement to volunteer with Summer Camps. It is included in the training and will be taken in person.
LIT volunteers are required to volunteer for 1 week, are guaranteed 2 weeks, and can volunteer up to a maximum of 3 weeks. LITs must complete the PHCD training and be 14 years of age by July 2, 2024.
If you are interested in our volunteer program, please register for a 1-day training during July 2-4 through Xplor Recreation. Registration opens March 1, 2024. Volunteer paperwork will be sent out to registered participants in May 2024.
For any questions about volunteering with our LIT program, please email volunteers@king.ca.
