King Environmental Action Team (K.E.A.T.)

Welcome!

We are a group of King residents and Community Services staff members that have come together to form K.E.A.T. We are dedicated towards making the Township of King more environmentally sustainable, and are doing so through hands on actions and events within the community! We look forward to making a meaningful impact within the Township of King through effective stewardship and responsible environmental actions.

Among a host of other actions, K.E.A.T. is aiming to undertake local community focused activities such as:

Tree Planting
Community Clean-Ups
Waste Management/Waste Audits at events
Guided Hikes
Invasive Species identification and removal
Cycling Initiatives
Environmental Workshop Development

Powering King: Community Energy Expo (October 25th, 11am - 4pm) at the Zancor Centre

Join the King Environmental Action Team (KEAT) and the Township of King for our first ever Community Energy Expo. This expo is a dynamic and engaging event that will focus on community-driven energy solutions and environmental sustainability. The day will feature five speakers from innovative companies and organizations showcasing alternative energy technologies and practical solutions designed to enhance energy efficiency at home and across our community. In addition to our esteemed speakers, there will be a diverse range of booths featuring representatives from energy companies, solar, geothermal and heat pump companies, local sustainability leaders, grant education, and kid-friendly coding activities. With our wide array of booths and speakers there will be learning opportunities for everyone!
