The countdown to summer in King Township– and the long break from school – is on! Parents: no need to panic, there are still (some) camps with availability. Whether your child is a young artist or chef, a challenge course climber, sports superstar or science wiz there is a camp in King that they (and you) will love! To view availability and register online, visit townshipofking.perfectmind.com.

The summer camp season begins on Tuesday, Jul. 2 with camps running for one-week sessions until Friday, Aug. 30 at various recreation facilities located in King City, Nobleton and Schomberg. Camps are sorted by area of interest to make the search easier for parents and kids. Choose from over 40 camps for ages four to 16 in arts and culture, leaders in training, sports, science and technology, the great outdoors, general and specialty interests. Inclusion support staff for children with disabilities is provided free of charge to Township of King residents, pending availability.  For more information about inclusion services, please email inclusion@king.ca. In addition to days filled with traditional camp fun, all campers can look forward to visits from special guests (selected camps only) and pizza lunch on Fridays.

Limited spots still left in select camps

Limited spots are still available in select camps, ranging from classics like Summer Shine to specialized areas of interest such as of hockey, soccer, music video production, dance, skateboarding/scooter and multi-media art. Highlighted below is a list of available camps, categorized by age group:  

Kinders (ages 4-6)

Kinder Outdoor Explorer: Little explorers will use their sight, touch, hearing, and smell to explore the 190 hectares at Cold Creek Conservation Area.

Messy Munchkins: Create messy projects and crazy concoctions using your imagination and a variety of different materials.

Kinder Summer Sizzle: Play, run, dance, sing! Enjoy a variety of sports, games, crafts, theme days, and special events.

Juniors (ages 7-9)

Jr. Summer Swirl and Jr. Summer Shine: Play games and sports, create arts and crafts, and enjoy theme days. 

Archery: Learn technical skills and put your aim to the test with interactive and challenging games.

Jr. Hockey Camp: Get ready for the upcoming hockey season by learning some new techniques and developing a stronger skill set.

Multi-sport Camp: Play basketball, dodgeball, soccer, floor hockey and your other favourite sports.

Gogh to Camp: Explore different types of art through a variety of techniques, materials, and individual and group projects.

Seniors (ages10-13)

Sr. Summer Swirl: Play games and sports, create arts and crafts, and enjoy theme days.

Dryland Hockey Camp: Looking for a camp for your child in the off-season to work on their agility, speed, strength, conditioning, and flexibility to gear up for next season? This youth camp focuses on learning and incorporating crucial off-season training.

Convenient locations and flexible drop-off and pick-up

Camp sites include the following locations: King City Arena, King City Seniors Centre (30 Fisher St), King Township Municipal Centre, King Heritage and Culutre Centre, Dr. William Laceby Nobleton Community Centre and Arena, Cold Creek Conservation Area, Trisan Centre and Schomberg Hall.  The types of camps vary by location. The camp day runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with flexible drop-off for campers starting at 8:30 a.m. and pick-up ending at 5 p.m. Bussing is only available for field trips for select camps.

King’s Camp team is top notch!

All camp staff are certified in Standard First Aid, CPR- C and HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development and have received a positive Police Vulnerable Sector Check. All summer camp staff attend comprehensive training sessions prior to the summer camp season and wear many hats throughout the summer as they maintain safety and supervision of campers, organize and lead group activities and mentor youth working as camp volunteers.
