Call to Artists for the 4th Annual Autumn Reflections En Plein Air competition.
This special event honours the spirit of the intrepid romantics and impressionists who rambled afield and worked quickly alla prima to capture that elusive light, that fleeting moment, the glories of the fall beckon . . .
The competition is open to all artists from anywhere. Any subject outdoors in King Township produced as new work on site (finished in studio acceptable) between September 23rd and October 21st, 2023 is eligible for the contest.
Awards Day will be on October 21st at the Pottageville Pavilion, 4380 18th Sideroad, Pottageville, Ontario L0G 1J0, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
Please see the QR code on the poster for the map. It is a beautiful facility with lots of natural light, indoor-outdoor fireplace and a veranda surrounded by a park and pond. Refreshments will be served.
This year's adjudication and commentary will be by Marek Badzynski. Marek brings a fresh perspective to our art community with his approach and technique.
Prize categories (TBD by the judge) are as follows:
$400 - Best in Show
$150 - Best Natural Feature
$150 - Best Architectural Feature
$150 - Most Daring
$150 - Best Human Interest
$150 - Best Artist Under 18
$100 - x 3 - Honourable Mention
