Senior Community Grant
King Township’s Community Services team received the Seniors Community Grant for the project a “Healthy Connection for a Happy and Healthy Future” in the amount of $14,500. The goal of this project is to bring awareness to the topics of senior loneliness and social isolation, the affects that these have on a senior and the benefits of socialization. This project aims to educate participants on these topics through a series of different activities, workshops, and programs. Please see below the programs to support the “Healthy Connection for a Happy and Healthy Future”.
King Age Friendly Community
Becoming an Age Friendly Community has been identified as one of the key results in the 2023-2026 King Township Corporate Strategic Plan. King will work towards becoming an Age-Friendly Community through collaboration of municipal staff, King AFC Advisory Committee and local key stakeholders. King is currently in the process of selecting the AFC committee and collecting all relevant information to develop an AFC Action Plan. This action plan will aid in enhancing senior programs and services throughout King Township.
