King Township’s Highway 11 Corridor Study is making headlines! Check out the article in today’s issue of the NRU, featuring an interview with Mayor Steve Pellegrini, Kristen Harrison, Manager of Policy Planning, and Aloma Dreher, Project Manager - Policy Planning. The piece outlines King’s new land use planning framework, aiming to revitalize the area from Bathurst Street to the Holland River, known as ‘the gateway to King Township with its connections to neighbouring municipalities, including Bradford West Gwillimbury, East Gwillimbury and Newmarket.

The framework addresses historical tourism and commercial uses, economic challenges, and the need for stability to attract investment, while adhering to provincial planning policies – most notably the Greenbelt Plan. Public feedback was gathered in a meeting on October 7, and the final framework will be presented to Council in early 2025.
