Looking for a unique experience to share with your grandchildren? Participate in our Grandma-Grandpa & Me series to try a new activity and learn something new - together.

Sign up for the whole year or join us for just one!

  • Ages: 5+
  • Fee: Each program is $10/participant 
  • Location: King Heritage & Cultural Centre OR King City Seniors Centre
  • Open to all caregivers: grandparent, parent, guardian, etc.

This is guardian participating program. All adults and children must register.

2. Little Green Thumbs: July 19, 2025 - 10AM-11AM, King Heritage & Cultural Centre

  • Description: This summer, discover the KHCC’s new Indigenous Medicine Garden with your grandchild. Learn how to grow and care for plants; and, work together to pot and grow your own.

3. All Aboard the KHCC Train!: August 16, 2025 - 10AM-11AM, King Heritage & Cultural Centre

  • Description: Wrapping up the summer to invite you and your grandchildren to tour the KHCC’s newly restored Railway Station. Explore all things trains and discover the gadgets and technologies that make them go! Take inspiration and work together to build, paint, and decorate your own model train.

4. Cooking: September 24, 2025 - 4:30PM-6:30PM, King City Seniors' Centre

  • Description: They say a kitchen is a place that connects and comforts us all. Join us for delightful cooking adventure that bridges generations. In this fun and interactive session, participants will bond over shared culinary experiences, learn new recipes, and develop essential cooking skills to cook a meal to share.

5. Holiday Cooking: November 26, 2025 - 4:30PM-6:30PM, King City Seniors' Centre

  • Description: Share in the fun to cook a holiday meal, further developing your essential skills from our first Cooking workshop; or, dive into the culinary world for the first time together.

6. Hot Off the Press - Holiday Cards: December 6, 2025 - 10AM-11AM, King Heritage & Cultural Centre

  • Description: We are wrapping up the year with festive cheer! Work together with your grandchildren to design and print your own holiday card using our Lino Press. Along the way, learn about the history and science behind the printing press; and, discover the first holiday card that started them all!
