Have your say: take the online survey by October 28
Township of King, Ont. — King Township is embarking on a journey to update its 2019 Parks, Recreation, and Culture Master Plan, aiming to enhance community recreation and create vibrant spaces that foster physical activity, social connection, and overall well-being for all residents. This comprehensive update will focus on Facility Services, Parks & Forestry Services, and Trails, ensuring that the Township continues to offer exceptional amenities for its residents.
The Township has engaged Sierra Planning and Management, a renowned multi-disciplinary planning firm, in collaboration with The MBTW Group, to lead this project. The updated master plans will guide and manage the future of recreation facilities, parks, open spaces, trails and other community amenities. These plans will provide clear direction to King Township on how to best use, develop, redevelop and enhance the Township's recreational infrastructure.
The success of these master plan updates depends on the feedback and involvement of the community. Over the coming months, King residents and other stakeholders—including community groups, private and public organizations—will have multiple public engagement opportunities to identify priorities, needs and challenges.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the following upcoming engagement opportunities:
- Online public survey for Recreation Facilities & Parks – available now!
- Online public survey for Trails – To be released mid-October 2024
- User group online survey (by invitation) – To be released late October 2024
- Drop-in Public Information Centre (PIC) – Planned for late January 2025
