King Township launches workshops to support sustainable farming practices

Posted:

In a bid to bolster the agricultural sector's resilience and sustainability, King Township has announced a series of workshops in collaboration with the Ontario Resource Centre for Climate Adaptation. These workshops are designed to help local farmers adopt regenerative and sustainable practices to better prepare for future challenges.

The initiative aims to provide farmers with expert support, share best practices and examples from peers, offer opportunities for collaboration and connection, and provide information about available funding opportunities.

The first workshop is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Schomberg Community Hall. This session will focus on soil health and cover crops, crucial components for maintaining productive and sustainable farmland.

Farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the resources and knowledge being offered. Registration is now open, and interested participants can sign up to secure their spot.
