Take Notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of King intends to consider amending by-laws under Section 36 of the Planning Act to remove the Holding (H) Symbols for the lands described below. The earliest Council will consider passage of the by-law is the Council Meeting on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of this notice is to inform you of this intent and to invite you to hear Council’s decision on the matter.

This Council Meeting will be held in a hybrid format, both in-person and live streamed at https://www.king.ca/meetings.

Location:         13500 & 13700 Dufferin Street and 1793 15th Sideroad, Village of King City

The total landholding is located in the northeast quadrant of the Village of King City; west of Dufferin Street, and south of 15th Sideroad, and comprises a draft approved plan of residential subdivision (19T-18K02) consisting of 521 detached residential lots (and 9 partial lots); 84 street townhouse lots; school, park, natural heritage, open space and buffer area and Stormwater Management Pond Blocks.  The location of the lands are municipally known as 13500 and 13700 Dufferin Street and 1793 15th Sideroad and are legally described as Part of Lots 9 and 10, Concession 3. 

The subject lands (Phase 1) are zoned Residential Urban Single Detached “A” – K4 Exception Holding (‘R1A-K4(H)’) Zone; Residential Urban Single Detached “A” – K3 Exception Holding (‘R1A-K3(H)’) Zone; Residential Urban Single Detached “A” – K2A Exception Holding (‘R1A-K2A(H)’) Zone; Residential Urban Single Detached “A” – K1A Exception Holding (‘R1A-K1A(H)’) Zone; Residential Urban Single Detached “A” – K2B Exception Holding (‘R1A-K2B(H)’) Zone; Residential Urban Single Detached “A” – K1B Exception Holding (‘R1A-K1B(H)’) Zone; and, Residential Urban Townhouse - K1 Exception Holding (‘R3-K1(H)’) Zone to Schedule ‘A’ (Map 3) of By-law No. 74-53 (Township of King Zoning By-law) and Residential Single Detached “A” – K4 Exception Holding (‘R1A-K4(H)’) Zone – R1A-7; Residential Single Detached “A” – K3 Exception Holding (‘R1A-K3(H)’) Zone – R1A-6; Residential Single Detached “A” – K2A Exception Holding (‘R1A-K2A(H)’) Zone – R1A-3; Residential Single Detached “A” – K1A Exception Holding (‘R1A-K1A(H)’) Zone – R1A-1; Residential Single Detached “A” – K2B Exception Holding (‘R1A-K2B(H)’) Zone – R1A-4; Residential Single Detached “A” – K1B Exception Holding (‘R1A-K1B(H)’) Zone – R1A-2; and, Residential Townhouse – K1 Exception Holding (‘R3-K1(H)’) Zone – R3-5 to Schedule ‘A4’ of By-law No. 2017-66 (Schomberg and King City Urban Areas), pursuant to the approval of amending Zoning By-law Nos. 2019-075 and 2019-076, respectively on September 23, 2019.

The removal of the Holding (H) Symbol will, in part, facilitate the development of a portion (Phase 1) of the lands in the manner intended by the draft approved plan and will implement the applicable zoning standards on that portion of the property as shown in hatching on the Key Map below.
